Congratulations to Darren Bewick who has been appointed as Greenvale’s new senior football coach for the 2021 Essendon District Football League premier division season.
Since finishing his playing career after the 2000 AFL grand final, Bewick has coached successfully at a number of clubs.
He coached Gippsland Power for two years, before spending several years as coach and football program head at the Northern Territory Institute of Sport.
Returning to Victoria, Bewick joined North Melbourne as a senior assistant coach.
In 2010, Bewick joined the Eastern Ranges as coach. During his decade with the Ranges the team made the grand final three times, winning the 2013 premiership. Bewick was named TAC/NAB League coach of the Year in 2013 and 2019.
Several young players Bewick coached have been drafted onto AFL lists.
