Vale Stuart Barclay

Vale Stuart Barclay
Stuart played in Essendon’s 1968 Reserves premiership side then made his senior debut in 1969  and played 39 senior games for Essendon between 1969-1973.
Stuart was a rangy right footer who began in the back pocket then played on the half back line. In the back pocket he often picked up the resting opposition ruckman. Although lightly-built he was quick, had a good spring and was a good mark.
Post-Essendon, Stuart played and coached in Tasmania and Queensland including representing Tasmania in state football from 1974-1977 and Queensland in 1978 & 1980.
Condolences to the Barclay family.
RIP Stuart.
