Rod Watt was a wingman and half-back, and came from Rochester like his more famous brother, Rowley.

He played 21 games for Essendon between 1925 and 1927 and then joined Coburg in 1928 and was a member of their premiership side that year.

He had enlisted in the 1st AIF on the 16th April 1915 and served with the 1st Field Ambulance. He had the misfortune to be wounded in action just two days after arriving in France and spent several months in hospital. He finally returned to Australia in March, 1919.

His brother, Rowley, played 140 games for Essendon (1922-1931).

Rod Watt died on 29th May, 1967.
