Player Profile

Johnny Walker was a half-forward flanker from Stawell. He was a good mark and kick, and could play at half-forward or half-back.

His first game was against Footscray in Round 12, 1932. He played every game for the rest of that season and only missed one game in 1933. This consistency saw him win Essendon's Most Improved Player award in 1933.

He played three games in early 1934 before leaving Essendon and joining Camberwell in late 1934.

He enlisted in the CMF on 28th April 1942, giving his occupation as "timber and joinery foreman" and joined the 2nd AIF on 13th March 1943 and served in New Guinea.

Walker died on 2nd February, 1980.
