STEVENSON, Robert

Robert Stevenson was selected by Essendon from the Western Jets in the 1993 National Draft at selection number 19. He represented Victoria at Under 17 level in 1993.

He was still only 17 when he made his debut against the West Coast Eagles at the MCG in 1994, but missed a number of games due to a hamstring injury. He was also a member of the 1994 Foster's Cup premiership side.

Stevenson was drafted as a key defender but he did not live up to his early promise and he was delisted by Essendon at the end of 1997. He was drafted by Footscray in 1998 and was on their list for two years, but played no senior games.
