David Starbuck was a wingman who came from Pascoe Vale to the Under 19s in 1968. He played 13 games in 1970 and 1971.

He was a member of the Reserves premiership side in 1968 and was also runner-up in the Morrish Medal for Best and Fairest in the Under 19s in that year.

Starbuck played with Coburg in 1972 and 1973 and then with Romsey in 1974.

He then returned to play with Pascoe Vale from 1975 to 1979 and then joined Reservoir-Lakeside from 1980 to 1982 and Woodend in 1983 and 1984.
