Lew Sharpe was a football journeyman who played with many clubs throughout his career. He finished with a total of 34 games with four League clubs.
He started his football career with Kernot in 1924 and then played with Loch in 1925 and early 1926. In late 1926 and early 1927 he was with St Kilda, before spending the rest of 1927 with Wonthaggi. He then joined Footscray and played 30 games there in 1929 and 1930 before becoming captain-coach of Blackwood in 1931. He played six games with Fitzroy in 1932. He won a premiership with Dalyston in 1933 as captain-coach.
Sharpe played one game as a ruckman for Essendon in Round 3, 1934, in a loss to South Melbourne.
He returned to play with Loch in 1935 and became captain-coach of Archer's Creek in 1936.
Sharpe was a farmer at Woodleigh Vale before moving to Warragul.
He died on 19th March, 2001.
