Paul O'Brien was orginally from St Peter's but came to Essendon after playing 22 games with Melbourne between 1980 and 1983.
He kicked his two goals in his first game for Essendon which was an away loss to Geelong in Round 5, 1988. His only other games for Essendon were in Rounds 11 and 12 for away losses to Hawthorn and Fitzroy.
