Player Profile

Frank Nash was a tall, lean centre half-forward and follower who took a good mark and kicked well. He played many fine games for Essendon after coming from Flemington Methodists.

He scored equal most Brownlow Medal votes for Essendon in 1928. He also played in the State League side against the Association in 1932.

The Club talked him out of retiring in 1934 and he played two more seasons until finally retiring from football at the end of 1935. He missed being made a life member through an oversight and was not granted that honour until 1992.

Nash worked as company secretary with Buchanan and Brook, ship repairers, until he retired.

He died on 2nd December, 1992, shortly after being granted his life membership.
