Player Profile

Jack Mihocek was a stocky red-headed half-forward and rover who came from East Keilor to play for Essendon's Under 19s in 1974.

He debuted against Collingwood in the second last game of 1976 kicking two goals. He played only three senior games in 1977 and found it difficult to hold down a regular senior spot.

Mihocek was not fast, but he had plenty of aggression and could take a good mark.

He played another eight games in 1978 then left Essendon to join Scottsdale in Tasmania in 1979. He returned to Victoria and played with Frankston in 1980 and 1981. He then returned to Tasmania to play with Cooee from 1982 to 1984.

He played with Hampton Park in 1985 and then Deer Park in 1987.

Mihocek's son, Brody, debuted with Collingwood in 2018 and to the end of 2022, had played 102 games and been the club's leading goalkicker three times.
