McNIECE, Ben

Ben McNiece was recruited as a 25-year-old Category B Rookie in 2017 through the Next Generation Academy. He was able to be selected as a Category B Rookie because his mother is Indian and at least one parent must be born overseas in order for the player to be eligible.

He had played in Essendon's VFL since 2015 and made his senior debut in the Anzac Day game against Collingwood in 2017.

McNiece was unable to retain a regular spot in the team and was delisted at the end of the 2019 season.
