Jim McAllester was a ruckman and key forward who came from Moonee Imperials to the Under 19s in 1977. He played in the Under 19s and Reserves, consistently appearing among the best players before making his senior debut.
His only senior games were in Rounds 3 and 4, 1980, for a win over South Melbourne and a three point loss to St Kilda.
McAllester then transferred to Footscray where he played 24 games in 1981 and 1982 before going to East Ballarat. He was in the Ballarat League side that won the country championship in 1983.
He later returned to play 10 games with Collingwood in 1984 and then with that Club's Reserves in 1985. He played with Brunswick in 1986 and 1987.
