Player Profile

Barry Mackie was a ruckman and forward who came from Golden Point where he played in 1957. He had a tough initiation when he was injured in his only game in 1958.

He was big and strong and could take a fairly good mark without being consistent, but he lacked pace.

He was a reserve in the losing 1959 Grand Final team.

Mackie was cleared back to Golden Point in 1961. He was then captain-coach of Lemnos in the Goulburn Valley from 1962 to 1964 and was a player there in 1965 and 1966. He later became captain-coach of Bunnaloo in New South Wales in 1970.
