Shawn Lewfatt was selected by Essendon as their 28th pick in the 1994 in the National Draft.
He represented the NT in state football at Under 17 level in 1993 and was captain in 1994. He also received Under 17 All-Australian honours in 1994.
Lewfatt played three games for Essendon and kicked two goals. His first senior game was against Fitzroy at the Whitten Oval.
He was an on-baller who had speed and the ability to kick goals. At the time, he was one of nine indigenous players at the Club.
Lewfatt was delisted in 1997 and added to Geelong's rookie list but played no senior games.
