Eddie Lake was a half-forward who came from Metung with his brother, Bruce. He was in and out of the team after playing his first senior game with Essendon at the age of sixteen.
He played in the centre in the Reserves premiership team in 1968.
Lake won the Most Courageous Player award in 1970 and the Essendon Reserves Best and Fairest award in 1972.
He joined Coburg from 1974 to 1977 and played in their premiership team in 1974. After this, he transferred to Coorparoo in Queensland from mid-1977 to 1983 and was captain-coach in 1983.
Lake represented Queensland from 1978 to 1982. He finished his career with Southport in 1984.
His brother, Bruce, played 30 games with Essendon (1968-1970). They played together 11 times.
