Player Profile

Bruce Lake was a ruckman and full-forward who came from Metung, with his brother, Eddie. He started with the Under 19s in 1966.

Lake could take a big mark but his kicking was unreliable, and he was used more as a fill-in than a regular player. He was a reserve in the losing 1968 Grand Final team.

Lake went on to play two games with Footscray in 1971, then went to Waverley in late 1971 and 1972. He spent several seasons as an umpire with the VFL Reserves list, then joined Reservoir-Lakeside from 1975 to 1978. He played with Pascoe Vale in 1979 and 1980.

His brother, Eddie, played 39 games with Essendon (1968-1973). They played together 11 times.
