Ben Howlett was selected with pick 30 in the 2010 Rookie Draft and was promoted to the Senior list during the season. He won the Lindsay Griffiths Rising Star Award as the Club's Best First Year Player that year.
He quickly gained momentum in the senior team, winning the Most Courageous award in 2012 and coming fifth in the Club's Best and Fairest award in 2012. He finished eighth in the Best and Fairest award in 2020.
He continued to be a hard working contributor in the midfield for the team but missed the 2016 season due to suspension because of the Supplements saga. He struggled to regain a regular game in 2017 and was delisted at the end of that year.
Howlett returned to his old club, Peel Thunder, in 2018 and became captain in 2019. He played his 100th game for the club in Round 9, 2021, and retired at the end of the season.
