Ken Hogan was a rover who came from Ivanhoe Grammar to the Under 19s in 1970. He won the Under 19s Best in Finals award and Most Promising First Year Player in 1970. The following year he won the Reserves Most Valuable Player award.

He played 18 games in 1971 and 1972.

In 1973, Hogan went to Sandy Bay in Tasmania and was selected in the Tasmanian side in that year. He then joined East Perth in 1974 and 1975 followed by Brunswick in 1976.

He coached Old Ivanhoe Grammarians from 1977 to 1980. His sister married Essendon premiership player, Greg Brown.
