Aaron Henneman played eight games in his debut year 2000 which brought him the Club's Best First Year Player award. He was a high flying defender who was an excellent mark and provided 'run' out of defence. He showed his potential early in the season during the Ansett Cup series.
2001 was an excellent year for Henneman when he played most of his 18 games at centre half-back. He badly tore a hamstring just two weeks out from the finals which gave him an up-hill battle to get fit. During 2001 he was a Rising Star Nominee.
He was restricted to eight games in 2002 due largely to hamstring and hip injuries which sidelined him for a total of nine weeks. In 2003 he spent time in the ruck, but injuries and lack of form forced him back into the VFL.
In 2004 he played just seven games and kicked one goal, and followed up with 10 games in 2005, including the last game in Round 22.
Again in 2005 Henneman played the role of a spare parts man. He provided an option up forward when Matthew Lloyd was out of the side and had ruck duties as well.
In 2006, ongoing shoulder problems meant Henneman didn't play a senior game in his last season.
He was delisted in October 2006. His cousin, Belinda, married Essendon premiership player, Adam Ramanauskas.
