Player Profile

Merv Harbinson was a rover and half-forward who came from Coburg and played two games in 1984 and 1985.

Before joining Coburg, he had played with Essendon's Under 19s where he was the leading goalkicker in 1978.

He found it hard to break into the strong senior teams of the 1980s, but had a successful career with the Reserves. He won the Reserves Best and Fairest award in both 1983 and 1985, the Best Clubman award in 1984 and was a member of the Reserves premiership team in 1983.

Harbinson returned to Coburg in 1986 and then joined West Adelaide in 1987.
