Ken Hall played with Essendon's VFL team in 2001 and was added to the Rookie list in 2002. His only game was in Round 2 against Hawthorn. Essendon won but he finished with the unenviable record of not recording a single statistic.
He was kept on the list in 2003 but despite being named as an emergency a number of times, he was delisted by the Club at the end of the season.
He finished second in the Bendigo Bombers (Essendon's VFL team) Best and Fairest Player award in 2003, after coming third in 2002. He also won the Trainers and staff (VFL) Best Clubman award in 2003.
Hall returned to Tasmania in 2004 and had a very successful career with the Tasmanian Devils until 2007 when he moved to North Hobart for the 2008 season. He was even more successful there, winning two club Best and Fairest Player awards (2008 and 2010). He retired at the end of the 2011 season.
