Tom Greenwood was 28 years old when he began his League career. He had enlisted in the Army in 1915 but was discharged in 1916 as medically unfit due to rheumatoid arthritis. That can be a debilitating condition so it is surprising that he was able to play football at all.
His only games for Essendon were in Rounds 7 and 8, 1918, for two losses to Collingwood and Richmond.
He joined Northcote in 1920.
Tom Greenwood died on 8th January, 1935, aged only 45.
