Player Profile

Mark Eustice was a skilful and quick half-forward from Strathmore. However he had difficulty in stringing games together in the strong teams of that era, and he was used mainly off the interchange bench.

He was on the interchange bench in the 1984 night premiership team. He was also a member of the Reserves premiership side in 1983.

He ran second in the Reserves Best and Fairest Player award, despite only playing 12 games.

Eustice was cleared to Richmond in 1985 where he played 62 games. He was sacked early in the 1988 season after he was suspended for two weeks for headbutting former team-mate, Steve Clark. He moved to Sydney later that year, playing five of the last six games. He went on to play another 41 games for the Swans before retiring in 1991.

In 2010, he revealed that he had been undergoing rehabilitation for long-time substance abuse and was suffering from bipolar depression. He credited the EFC Past Players & Officials Association with helping him to deal with his mental health problems.
