EARLY, Phil

Phil Early was a forward who came from Strathmore. He had won the award for Best and Fairest in the Essendon District League's Under 17s in 1976.

He played 10 games in late 1977 and while he had plenty of ability, he may not have realised his full potential.

After leaving Essendon he returned to Strathmore in 1978 and then joined Fitzroy in 1979 where he played three games the next year. After this he went to Yarrawonga in 1981 and 1982 and Aberfeldie Park from 1983 to 1985. He was captain-coach in 1984 and 1985.
