Bill Dinsmore was a forward who played 19 games with Fitzroy in 1908 and 1909. Prior to that he had been at Wesley College. He didn't play with any League club from 1910 to 1913 then joined Essendon in 1914.

In his first season he was Essendon third top goalkicker with 17 goals including five goals against South Melbourne, the best return by any Essendon player that season.

After playing the first game of 1915, he joined St Kilda where he played one game in Round 7 the same year.

His brother, Bart, played two games for St Kilda (1903).

Bill Dinsmore died on 11th November, 1967.
