Cory Dell'Olio was taken by Essendon with pick 29 in the 2011 Rookie Draft after his impressive 55 goal 2011 season with South Fremantle in the WAFL. He had won a premiership with them in 2009.
He was a quick, small forward who brought flair, a good goal sense and a bit of aggression to his game.
A knee injury to team-mate, Brent Prismall, opened the door for Dell'Olio who was elevated to the senior list in early 2012 and he made his debut in a Round 4 win over Carlton. He finished with eight games in his debut season but was returned to the rookie list.
He was back in 2013 with three games and played five in his final season in the AFL.
Dell'Olio was delisted by Essendon at the end of 2014 and he returned to his old club, South Fremantle. He missed the entire 2016 season when he was suspended due to the Supplements saga but returned to playing in 2017.
