Peter "Spider" Cransberg was a versatile running player recruited from East Perth in WA. After a promising first two years, he found it hard to maintain his place in the side due to three groin operations and a medial ligament operation.
Tall and lightly built, he could play in a variety of positions and he was a good straight kick for goal.
He played in the losing 1990 Grand Final team but did play in two successful night premierships in 1990 and 1993.
He played more Reserves games for his Club than senior games, but remained at Windy Hill, believing there was no guarantee of senior football at another club.
He won the Best First Year Player award in 1990 and the Reserves Best and Fairest Player award in 1995.
After retiring he acted as a recruiting officer for several years and then as a runner for the Reserves.
