Stewart Crameri was selected by Essendon with pick 43 in the 2009 Rookie Draft and was elevated to the main list in 2010. Essendon knew what they were getting because he had spent the previous three years with the Bendigo Bombers, finishing second in their Best and Fairest in 2010.
Playing mainly at full-forward, his main assets were his speed and marking ability. He was Essendon's leading goalkicker in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He also won the Most Improved Player award in 2011. He finished eighth in the Best and Fairest award in 2011 and 2012.
Unlike most recruits, he didn't play Under 18s but instead played for his home town Maryborough in the Bendigo Football League. In 2011, he was awarded the Jack Worrall Medal by the Goldfields Region Sports Association, as the region's most outstanding sports person.
He sought a trade at the end of 2013 and went to the Western Bulldogs in exchange for pick 26. He played 42 games there, although he missed the 2016 season when he was banned due to the supplements saga. He only played two games before suffering a hip injury which required surgery, causing him to miss the rest of the season.
He was delisted by the Bulldogs at the end of 2017 and was picked up by Geelong in the 2017 Rookie Draft but only managed four games in 2018 and was delisted at the end of the year.
