Barry Colliver was a half-back who came from Carrum to the Thirds in 1952. He won Essendon Thirds Best and Fairest award in 1952 and was captain in 1953.

Colliver played seven senior games in 1954 and 1955, and six of these were as a reserve.

He was selected in the League Seconds State side in 1954.

After leaving Essendon, Colliver joined Rushworth in 1956 and 1957 and was then captain-coach of Lake Boga in 1958 and 1959.
