Brian Brown was a rugged back pocket player who played two games in late 1982 after coming from Fitzroy where he played 52 games from 1976 to 1981.
His career was plagued by leg injuries before joining Essendon.
His only games for Essendon were in Rounds 17 and 18, 1982, for a win and a loss against Collingwood and Hawthorn.
Brown joined Coburg in 1983 before becoming captain-coach of Colac from 1984 to 1986. He was a player for that club in 1987 and he won the award for Best and Fairest in the Hampden League in that year.
His son, Jonathan, was a champion player for Brisbane.
