Player Profile

Bob Bradley was a consistent but deceptive winger who looked fairly slow but managed to keep up with most opponents.

Coming from Moonee Ponds YCW, he spent three years in the RAAF before joining Essendon. In his first year in 1947, he was runner-up in the Gardiner Medal for Best and Fairest in the VFL Reserves competition.

By 1949 he was on the wing in the senior premiership team. A dislocated shoulder put paid to his chances of playing in the 1950 premiership side.

When Bradley left Essendon he joined Traralgon in 1951 and then went to Camberwell as captain-coach in 1952 and 1953. He later became captain-coach of Auburn from 1954 to 1959.

He died on 4th August, 1999.
