Player Profile

Simon Eastaugh made his debut for Essendon in 1998, winning the Club's Best First Year Player in his debut season. He had earlier played with Richmond's Under 19s. After four years on Richmond's list without a senior game, he was delisted and moved to Norwood (SANFL) where he won a premiership in 1997.

He was drafted by Essendon with pick 68 in the 1997 National Draft.

He played as a ruckman, had good skills and went on to play 12 senior games in 1998, then played only five games in 1999. He couldn't break into the strong 2000 team, but won the Reserves Best Player award.

He was delisted by Essendon at the end of the 2000 season but was picked up by Fremantle in the 2001 Pre-season Draft. He played 12 games with the Dockers in two seasons.

He has had a successful coaching career, especially as a ruck coach at the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle.
