Bob Drummond was a forward who came from Ascot Vale in 1938 and played 14 games from 1943 to 1945.
He debuted in 1943 with four goals against Carlton in a narrow six point win, then kicked five the following week against Collingwood. Only two Essendon players kicked more goals in a game that season.
His career was disrupted by leg injuries and he struggled to put games together in the strong sides of the era. He played only eight games between 1944 and 1945 but showed that he could kick goals. He was also a fine mark.
Essendon cleared him and he went on to play five games with North Melbourne in 1946 and 1947. He then coached Ascot Vale from 1948 to 1955.
In 1966, he joined the League Tribunal where he remained for thirteen years and then became president of the Essendon Past Players Association in 1971.
He retired in 1983 after being operations manager for the Tramways Board.
Drummond died on 8th February, 1991.
