Player Profile

Bill Davies was one of the best wingmen of his day coming from Williamstown and prior to that, Yea. Although lightly built he was fast and clever.

He was in the Victorian team against Ballarat in 1905 and against East Fremantle in 1909.

He was also on the wing in Essendon's losing 1908 Grand Final team.

In 1910, Davies returned to Williamstown. Then in 1912 he became an Association umpire. He later joined the VFL umpiring ranks, officiating in two games as central umpire, but an impressive 205 games running the boundary.

He died on 23rd July, 1959.
