Tim Darcy was selected by Essendon with pick 22 in the 1994 pre-season draft after he had been delisted by Geelong. He had enjoyed a after a long and successful career at Geelong, playing 176 games there from 1982 to 1994, including two losing Grand Finals. He played for Victoria in 1989.
He played 14 games for Essendon in 1995 and kicked five goals, although he played most of the year at full-back, the position where he had played most of his football at Geelong.
Darcy worked for many years in real estate in the Geelong area.
