A ruckman from Tasmania, Andrew Phillips played for the Lauderdale Bombers before graduating to the Tassie Mariners in the TAC Cup competition.

Andrew Phillips was originally drafted by the Greater Western Sydney Giants in the 2011 Rookie draft , with pick four. He made his debut in round 7, 2017, against Gold Coast  at Manuka Oval, in Greater Western Sydney's first-ever AFL win.

He only managed 14 games in four seasons with the Giants, and in October 2015, was traded to the Carlton Football Club. He made his Carlton debut in round 1, 2016  against Richmond at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and played a further 26 games, kicking 10 goals.

Phillips was traded to his third club, Essendon, at the conclusion of the 2019 AFL season. He had his most successful time with the Bombers, playing 41 games, mainly in the ruck, and kicking 13 goals.

Andrew retired at the end of the 2023 Season.
