Ty Zantuck's pace and attack on the ball were his greatest assets. He played 68 games for Richmond before joining Essendon after being delisted by the Tigers.
He played nine senior games in 2005, averaging just under 14 possessions each game. In Round 2, playing deep in defence, he managed to keep Carlton spearhead Brendan Fevola to one goal.
He was delisted at the end of 2005 after several off-field disciplinary problems.
He joined Kangaroo Flat in 2007, then played in Heidelberg's premiership in 2008. He returned to his former junior club, Strathmore, in 2010.
He was diagnosed with suspected chronic traumatic encephalopathy in late 2021.
Ty's father, Shane, played 149 games for North Melbourne, South Melbourne and Melbourne (1974-1986). His uncles both played for North Melbourne (Arnold, 161 games, 1972-1983, and Robert, nine games, 1976-1978).
