Stan "Snowy" Wilson was a courageous and dashing half-back and utility player.
He came from East Brunswick where he played from 1930 to 1932 and again in 1935. He also played with Northcote in 1933 and 1934, and was a member of their 1933 premiership side.
Wilson won Essendon's Most Improved Player award in 1937, the Most Unselfish Player award in 1938, and the Best Utility Player award in 1939. He was member of the Seconds premiership side in 1941.
He left Essendon in 1941 when he enlisted in the Army. He served in the Pacific region before returning to play with East Brunswick in 1946 and 1947.
Wilson retired in 1977 after working for more than twenty years with Myer Northland.
His brother-in-law, Murray Exelby, played 115 games for Essendon (1935-1944).
Stan Wilson died on 13th November, 2004.
