Len Wallace was a well-built utility player from Camberwell. He was a real personality and there are numerous stories about his love of a drink.
He won Essendon's Best First Year Player award in 1934 and the Best Back Player in 1936.
He served in the Middle East during World War II and was a Rat of Tobruk.
Wallace died on 22nd June, 1973.
