TOWNSEND, Jacob

Jacob Townsend was signed by Essendon in the pre-season supplemental draft in 2019. He had played 20 games with Richmond between 2016 and 2019 and prior to that 28 games with Greater Western Sydney between 2012 and 2015.

While playing with Richmond's VFL team in 2019, he won the J. J. Liston Trophy as the best player in the VFA.

He was unable to secure a regular spot in the team and was delisted at the end of the 2020 season. He was picked up by the Gold Coast Suns in the 2021 Rookie Draft and played two games with them then retired at the end of the season.

Jacob Townsend finished with an overall AFL career of 62 games and 44 goals.
