Jimmy "Sonny" Thurgood was a half-forward who played two games in 1897. He was a cousin of the great Albert Thurgood, and, like his cousin, Jimmy was an excellent kick.
He made his debut in Round 4 against Fitzroy in a home win and kicked two goals. He played his second and last game in Round 10 in an away win over Carlton.
Jimmy Thurgood died on 31st July, 1946.
