THOMSON, Michael

Michael Thomson was recruited from local team, Aberfeldie. His first connection with Essendon was in 1972 when he played in the Bombers' Little League side. He next played with the Under 19s in 1980.

He was strong and a handy utility player who could play in a number of positions, from wing to back pocket.

He had trouble getting a regular senior game in the strong team of that time and he was also affected by a serious shoulder injury in 1985. He was a member of the Reserves premiership side in 1983.

Thomson was cleared to Richmond in 1987 where he played 42 games.

He returned to Essendon in the 1990 Mid-season Draft but played no senior games.
