Player Profile

Norm Simpson was a clever, left-footed, high-marking wingman with plenty of skill and speed. He came from North Melbourne Juniors.

He was one of Essendon's best players in the semi-final loss to Collingwood in 1925.

The following season Simpson was runner-up in Essendon's Best and Fairest award. He managed only six games in 1928 owing to injuries, kicking goals in all but one game. He played in 14 games in 1929 and was selected in the League side against Bendigo that year.

Simpson joined Yarraville in 1933, but returned to Essendon in 1934 as coach of the Reserves team.

He died on 23rd July, 1990.
