Terry Rodgers was a talented half-forward with an uncanny goal sense who came from the Essendon District League.
As a University High schoolboy, he played at full-forward, following in the footsteps of John Coleman and Ron Evans, who had both been full-forwards for the school. In fact, he broke Coleman's school record by kicking 55 goals in eight games.
After playing well in the 1962 second semi-final he was forced out of the premiership team by a leg injury suffered at training.
Rodgers was cleared to Alexandra in 1965 as captain-coach and then had the same role at Croydon.
He had a number of educational positions in his career, as teacher, principal and consultant, before buying and managing a motel at Caloundra. After his retirement, he moved to Wycheproof.
Terry Rodgers died on 18th February, 2023, aged 80.
