David Robertson was a successful junior footballer, winning North Adelaide's Under 19 best and fairest award. He went on to play 71 senior games with them before being drafted by Collingwood. He played 17 games for the Magpies in 1988 and 1989.
He was a quick, hard running on-baller who played three games with Essendon in 1991 before returning to country Victoria.
He had returned to Euroa in 1990 until selected by Essendon in the mid-season draft although he played no senior games that year.
Robertson won the Reserves Best and Fairest award in 1991.
