Player Profile

Joel Reynolds was a pacy and skilful player whose career was dogged by injuries. He was drafted by Essendon with the pick 37 they received for trading Damien Hardwick to Port Adelaide. He made his debut in Round 3, 2002, against Brisbane at the 'Gabba and played nine games for the season.

He alternated between the forward line, the back pocket and on the wing and made a promising start to his career.

Reynolds played 14 games in 2003 but found 2004 frustrating due to glandular fever and an ankle injury, which restricted him to only three games.

Injuries continued to limit his opportunities in 2005 and he managed only one game. He had a better 2006 with 10 senior appearances but injuries again limited his appearances.

Reynolds was delisted at the end of 2006 and picked up by Geelong, but injured his knee and was delisted at the end of 2006.

He played with EDFL team, Strathmore, in 2011 and won the premiership. He has also served on the EFCPP&OA committee.

He is the grandson of Essendon legend and three-time Brownlow winner Dick Reynolds.
