Bob Rahilly began his football career at South Ballarat and then played 33 games with Fitzroy from 1910 to 1912.
He played two games as a follower for Essendon in Rounds 2 and 4, 1914, in each of which he kicked two goals in wins against University and Richmond. He left Essendon in mid-1914 to join Northcote.
Rahilly returned to South Ballarat in late 1912 and went to Sturt in South Australia in early 1913 before moving to Broken Hill later in that year.
He enlisted in the AIF in June 1915 and served in France, rising to the rank of sergeant.
He has the unusual record of hitting the post four times in a match, which he did with Fitzroy in 1911. The only other player to achieve the same feat is Collingwood's Alby Pannam (in 1936).
Bob Rahilly died on 9th December, 1935.
