Player Profile

Danny Morgan came to Essendon from the Carlton Reserves. His first game for Essendon was against Sydney at the MCG in 1995.

Morgan was a tough player with great perseverance. He played as an on-baller but could also play as a forward.

Morgan was a hard trainer and an excellent club man, but found it hard to cement a place in the senior side. He played 92 Reserves games and won the Reserves Best and Fairest in 1994 and 1996. He came second in 1995.

He was the great-grandson of Fitzroy champion, Gerald Brosnan (1900-1909). Brosnan had played for Essendon in 1895 but couldn't get a regular game with either Essendon or Geelong and ended up at Fitzroy where he played 131 games.

Morgan did a traineeship in the Club's Communications department and later became a reporter with the ABC.
