Andy McPartland was a utility player from Western Australia. He had played with West Perth in 1938 before joining Moonee Valley CYMS in 1940.
He played one game as a reserve in late 1941. He was a member of the Seconds premiership side in that year. His career was interrupted by service as a flight mechanic in the RAAF during World War II.
He returned to Western Australia and joined Kalgoorlie Railways from late 1945 to 1947 and was captain-coach in 1946 and assistant coach in 1947.
McPartland then went to Miners Rovers in 1948 and 1949 and captain-coached that club to the premiership in 1949.
He was captain-coach of Kalgoorlie in 1951 and he was assistant coach of that club in 1952. He later coached East Victoria Park Juniors in Perth.
McPartland retired in 1979 after working for a building construction company.
His brother, Leo, played four games for Collingwood in 1943.
Andy McPartland died on 2nd May, 1990.
