Ron Kennedy was a small rover and wingman who could kick with either foot. He joined the Seconds from Keilor in 1937.
Kennedy played three consecutive games with Essendon in mid-1944, playing in a draw, a loss and a win.
He then took up umpiring for two years.
Kennedy returned to amateur football as captain-coach of local club Doutta Stars in 1947, followed by Keilor in 1948.
He then became non-playing coach of West Coburg in 1949 and 1950, of St David's Brunswick in 1951 and 1952, then Keilor Under 17s in 1953 and Aberfeldie Under 17s in 1954.
His last coaching stint was with the National Bank in the Amateurs from 1956 to 1958 and in 1960.
Kennedy died on 26th November 2006.
